Job Description:

Lynnwood Community League is seeking a Secretary to oversee the following:

  • Attending all meetings of the Society, the Board and the Executive Committee.
  • Keeping accurate minutes of these meetings.
  • Having charge of the Board’s correspondence under the direction of the President and the Board.
  • Making sure all notices of various meetings are sent.
  • Keeping the Seal of the Society.
  • Filing the annual return, changes in the directors of the organization, amendments in the bylaws and other incorporating documents with the Corporate Registry.
  • Carrying out other duties assigned by the Board.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in event planning and management is an asset.

Job Description: Lynnwood Community League is seeking a Treasurer to manage the financial affairs of our community hall. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring that all monies paid to the Society are deposited into and all eligible payments are made from the Society’s bank account. .
  • Preparing all regulatory financial reports required by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, Government of Alberta and Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Making sure a detailed account of revenues and expenditures is presented at every Board Meeting and Annual General Meeting.
  • Making sure an audited statement of the financial position of the Society (as per 7.2 Finance and Auditing) is prepared and presented at the Annual General Meeting.
  • Chairing the Finance Committee (this is currently an inactive committee).

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in financial management and accounting is an asset.

Job Type: Seasonal Contract (November 15 2024 – March 15 2025)

Job Description:

The Lynnwood Community League is seeking a Lynnwood resident Ice Attendant to maintain the outdoor ice rink during the winter season. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining the ice surface by flooding, scraping, and shoveling snow.
  • Ensuring the safety of the rink by removing any hazards.
  • Monitoring the rink during public skating hours for safety and adherence to posted rules. 
  • Providing excellent customer service to all patrons.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the Rink Shack Changeroom and washrooms

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in ice maintenance is an asset.
  • Must be available to work regularly scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, occasional special events and holidays.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have or acquire contractors insurance.
  • Lynnwood or surrounding area residents preferred. 
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check required of successful applicants. 

Training:

The current Rink Attendant is available for training over the next two months. Future training can be provided but is limited. 

Concession Stand:

The Ice Attendant may choose to set up a concession stand in coordination with the league.

  • Organizing, timing, and completing the annual Membership campaign.
  • Keeping a record of and maintaining the membership and volunteer lists and other records pertaining to membership.
  • Engaging new members as the first point of contact, and fostering a relationship of potential new volunteers.
  • Ensuring compliance with the EFCL Code of Ethics with respect to selling memberships.
  • Reviewing and preparing policies and procedures with respect to membership.
  • Reporting monthly to the Board of Directors.

  • Reporting monthly to the Board of Directors.
